Weekend By Mark Seal "Toronto indelibly left its impression on me in
eveything I do," says Mike Myers, recounting the moments in which his home
town has served as his muse. Born to British immigrant parents, Myers was, at
eight, already starring in Toronto televion commercials... Lunch "On
a Sunday, The Beaches is perfect. In the east end of Toronto along Lake
Ontario, there's like a three-mile boardwalk that's known as the Beaches. Drive
out. Find a parking spot. It's a little tricky; I'm not gonna lie to you. But
if the parking gods are kind, you'll find a spot. Go to Lick's. Get yourself some
fries, a grilled hot dog, or what they call a Homeburger, a Lick's burger. And
just walk along the boardwalk on a summer day and get that nice cool breeze off
Lake Ontario. The adventurous actually swim in Lake Ontario. Then, walk down the
hill to the lake and walk along the boardwalk. There they have a beautiful park
called "Kew Gardens." |
